Earth's Clay
Meet Sarah, the owner + maker
If there’s one thing to know about Sarah is that she loves to make stuff. When she’s not making pottery, you’ll find her crocheting and sewing clothes, cooking or DIYing something around the house. Another thing to note is that she loves animals so don’t get her started on talking about her dog otherwise she may not stop. Take this as your warning. Her husband, Sam, and dog, Millie, live in the Adelaide Hills where she has a home studio she works from
About Earth's Clay
Sarah’s pottery journey began in 2017 in highschool (shocker). It wasn’t long before Sarah had fallen victim to the pottery bug and became obsessed with making functional ceramics that she could use everyday.
Her pottery obsession turned into a hobby business the following year and then in 2022, it turned into her full time job.
Sarah’s goal in making functional ceramics is to celebrate clay in its use, by simply making pottery for others to enjoy using. Her work is not made to be sat on a shelf to be admired, but to be used every single day while sparking joy. Her pottery is made for comfort and convenience, while being hella cute. Sarah believes that pottery can elevate mundane moments in everyday life, in turning normal routines into special moments. There’s nothing quite like being able to physically interact and enjoy someone else’s creation, that you too have created an emotional connection to. Pottery is just cool like that
Small batch, small business
One of the best things about Earth’s Clay is that everything is made in small batches, made by someone who loves and cares for each piece made. Sarah pays close attention to detail with her work, ensuring you’re getting the best quality ceramics possible. Each design, shape, glaze, even down to the handle size is intentionally made through inspiration, creativity and passion. It’s a one woman show around here
